The sport of outrigger canoe paddling is a fast growing niche sport in Hong Kong. The sport has a long history in Tahitian, Polynesian and Hawaiian culture and this culture and tradition is past on from generation to generation and across oceans and continents. This is an open water endurance sport; learning how to surf, understanding how to move the canoe fast, as well as canoe care and rigging is all part of the sport. Fitness, open water confidence, team dynamics and a new love for the ocean and respect for the environment are some of the outcomes learnt from paddling a diverse range of canoe types. Every training session you will learn a new aspect about the sport, your own paddling, and connecting with your team mates on the water. Mahalo.

Indemnity

1. I {parentguardianName} declare that I am 18 years of age or older, and consent {nameOf} to participate in the trainings with below terms & conditions.

2. I declare that {nameOf} has FULL knowledge of the risks involved and is well prepared, physically and sufficiently fit to undergo this training.

3. I declare that {nameOf} can swim at least 50 meters and is competent under water & treading water in light clothing or {nameOf} will be required to wear a PFD, which will be provided by the organizer.

4. I declare that {parentsguardiansName} and {nameOf} shall not hold the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, the appointed officials, staff, employees & volunteers liable for any claim or demand arising from the death, personal injury, damage or loss to property of the participant whereby such is not caused by negligence of RHKYC, which may occur in the course of or as a result in participation of the trainings.

5. I declare that {nameOf} has strict compliance with all rules, regulations, requirements & instructions related to the above training and {nameOf} should responsible for any death, personal injury or loss to property if such is caused by the violation of the regulations, requirements & instructions by our own.

6. I declare that {parentsguardiansName} and {nameOf} agrees to pay the costs or replacement for any damages to RHKYC equipment caused by our own.

7. Promotion: Participants in RHKYC Rowing and Paddle Sports trainings grant to RHKYC, at no cost, the absolute right and permission in perpetuity to use their image and likeness in any media for the sole purposes of advertising, promoting, reporting and disseminating information regarding this trainings. Please let us know if you do not permit your image to be used in this manner on separate document and notice the organizer.

8. Medical Declaration: It is our responsibility to make known of any potential medical conditions that may affect our own safety and performance during the above trainings and will inform RHKYC of any subsequent conditions that the activity leader should be aware of.
